With a background in the game I have for years supplied clubs with everything from their playing kits to match day equipment, training aids, off-field apparel & promotional merchandise. What continues to makes us different though is we do this by partnering up with individual clubs on a case by case scenario & assisting them to make much of their purchases through revenues we assist them to generate.
We provide grass-roots clubs with an innovative & highly profitable fundraising program, assistance with the identification & procurement of grants, provide trailing commissions for external work they generate and in many cases direct sponsorship. Each club is quite unique and we ensure we treat them as such.
We are commitment to providing any club we have the opportunity to work with all the necessary tools required to ensure they have viable solutions at their disposal to assist in attaining a level of financial security required in todays football marketplace. For too many years I have seen clubs come and go and is totally avoidable should clubs can remain cash positive in their seasonal activities.
I for one appreciate the high costs required in running a club, especially from the uniform and equipment side. In every interaction with a club we try to ascertain what they ‘want’ moreso than what they think they need, and then endeavour to tailor a solution that fits. Whilst not every club takes us up on the additional services, those that do benefit tremendously. At the very least, we want clubs to have some choice when it comes to activities to generate additional revenue streams.
So where does all this passion and drive for helping clubs come from?
In my earlier years I was fortunate enough to play at some of the biggest football clubs in Australia and under the best coaches this country had at the time. A brief stint in the UK with Crystal Palace in the mid 80’s only served to fuel this passion further. Over the years good old Father Time no longer allows me to quench my thirst for the game by playing at this level, so the ability to influence clubs and see the things we achieve provide better resources for the kids coming through is what now provides the satisfaction I need from the game.
Football gave me much over the years, I feel almost obliged to give something back to the game and in my position have the ability to influence this at a club level. Many players I have met over the years have also stayed in the game and continue to provide value to our code. In some way we all use our involvement in the game to ‘scratch that itch’ that never goes away.
A little bit of trivia for you all… Who remembers any of the footballers in the photo below from back in the the 80’s & 90’s? Can you spot the guys here who played NSL and also those with caps for the Socceroos at Youth or Senior level. Every player in this photo played at the top level somewhere and was one of the best teams I played in with a great backroom staff! Ah memories….
Until next time…
